Getting in Shape: The Public Policy Boot Camp

On Wednesday, March 22, 2017, we hosted our Public Policy Boot Camp Preconference event. Our goal was to help TxCFR members and other professionals learn how to develop relationships with Texas legislators and share information about the field of family life education. Twenty preconference attendees were treated to an amazing lineup of facilitators including Representative Ramon Romero (Texas House, District 90) and his Chief of Staff Michael Ramsey, Ellen Arnold with Arnold Public Affairs, and nationally-certified trainer Marlene Lobberecht. The boot camp included interactive activities to help us practice our skills. We are so grateful that such accomplished professionals took time during a busy legislative session to sharer their wealth of knowledge with us.
