2018 TxCFR Student Poster Competition Submissions
The Texas Council on Family Relations (TxCFR) invites students to submit poster presentations for consideration at the 2018 TxCFR Conference. Posters addressing the conference theme of Family Strengths and Challenges, are encouraged, however, all posters within the field of family science and that meet the eligibility requirements are welcome. Submit your abstract (between 120 - 500 words). The following cash prizes will be awarded at the conference following the student poster session:
1st Place: $100
2nd Place: $75
3rd Place: $50
Eligibility: To be eligible for the competition, students 1) must be an undergraduate or graduate student and must be either the first author or the sole author on the poster presentation, 2) must register for and attend the 2018 TxCFR Conference on April 5th & 6th at the SpringHill Suites Dallas—Plano/Frisco, and 3) must follow the required guidelines for poster submission.
Posters must reference scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles to be considered for this competition. Posters may feature comprehensive reviews of literature, research proposals, or completed research studies. In addition to these basic requirements, posters will be judged based on the following criteria:
1) Comprehensiveness in terms of relevant background research and theory
2) Clarity in written and oral communication
3) Structure and organization, and
4) Potential implications for practitioners or researchers that are current and significant.
Deadline: Poster abstracts submissions must be received by January 1st, 2018. Students must present their poster at the 2018 TxCFR Conference during the student poster session. Judges will be present during the session, and winners will be notified at the end of the student poster session.
Submit by 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time on January 1st, 2018!

Please upload an abstract of your presentation including the title of your presentation and a summary (between 120 - 500 WORDS). Do NOT include any identifying information about the presenter(s). This document will be used for blind review. Please upload a MS Word/DocX document.
TERMS OF SUBMISSION: The deadline is 11:59 p.m. CST, January 1st, 2018. Acceptance notifications will be sent by January 31st, 2018. Authors' contact information will only be used within TxCFR. All proposals will be peer-reviewed in a blind review process to determine acceptance. If accepted to present, any author that is presenting must register for the TxCFR 2018 Conference. Failure to register will result in the accepted presentation being omitted from the conference program. You must agree to the TERMS OF SUBMISSION described above in order for your proposal to be considered for acceptance.
