Representing Texas in Orlando

November 15, 2017

Several of our TxCFR members attended the 2017 National Council on Family Relations Conference, held in Orlando, Florida. TxCFR President Joanne Roberts (Hardin Simmons University) and Board Members Jennifer Newquist (Stephen F. Austin University) and Erica Jordan (University of Houston) presented an Affiliate Roundtable Discussion focused on our recent Capitol Connection event. Approximately 30 attendees visited one of three 20-minute time blocks to learn more about the event and consider how to replicate it in their own states. Several other TxCFR members also hosted an informational table that featured our family life education infographic and information about our state affiliate. Of course, we also had a great time dining out and taking in the sites of Disney country. Orlando is always a fun place to visit, and it is even better with a network of great colleagues!
