Capitol Connection & Family Champion

On Thursday, March 23, 2017, a group of TxCFR members visited the Texas Capitol in Austin, Texas as part of the Capitol Connection Preconference event. We hosted a breakfast briefing for legislators and staff members to inform them about the field of family life education and provide them with our infographic. During this event, we honored Representative Senfronia Thompson (District 141) with our TxCFR Family Champion Award in recognition of all of the work she has done for women, children, and families during her service as a Texas House Member. After the briefing, we visited with individual legislators and staff members to educate them about TxCFR and family life education. We sincerely thank each of them for taking the time to meet with us. Finally, TxCFR was recognized on the Texas House floor during the legislative session.
